NeuroTrans

Brain and Eye Drug Delivery

Traversing CNS Barriers

Within the CNS, the brain and eyes are particularly challenging to delivery therapies due to limited adsorption from cellular barriers. Consequently, nearly all therapeutics cannot reach the brain or eyes and many existing delivery technologies such as deep brain stimulation or direct brain injection are unquestionably invasive and not safe enough.

Blood-brain and blood-retina barriers

The vast distribution of CNS vasculature make systemic administration an attractive route for treating neurological disorders that require higher concentrations and greater biodistribution. However, the blood-brain barrier and the blood-retina barrier poses delivery challenges such as a tight junctions, cellular membranes and enzymes.

Mode of Action

By mimicking intrinsic endocytosis and endosomal escape mechanisms, BioCyto’s NeuroTrans safely transposes CNS barriers granting it innovative and best-in-class status. Unlike other proposed delivery methods, NeuroTrans does not compromise the barriers integrity and expose the CNS to damaging blood components.

Brain model studies have revealed a breakthrough in therapeutic delivery compared to control nanoparticles with observation of nanoparticle-induced toxicity.
